Cholesterol ... not the problem it is made out to be

Updated: Nov 1, 2018

Cholesterol is not the problem it is made out to be and cholesterol medication has more side effects than beneficial effects according to research. 1

In fact the research measured in people over 60 that those with higher cholesterol levels actually live longer. In other words, those with lower cholesterol levels (including those on statins- the cholesterol lowering drugs) died younger.2

Cholesterol medication is of no help for all women but it does cause harm. 3,4

Patients taking statins can experience muscle pain, aches, soreness, weakness or fatigue.5

A Canadian group of pharmacists and medical doctors have independently assessed cholesterol drug company studies.  Their goal is to reduce bias and to provide health care providers with up-to-date, evidenced-based, practical information on prescription drug therapy.6

This is one of the most common reasons people visit a chiropractor and this is why  we are happy to work with you and your MD and pharmacist to help reduce or eliminate your need for cholesterol medication.  See Lifestyle Medicine letter to your MD and pharmacist.7
